Donation in memory of Scott

Donation in memory of Scott

Pentlands Men’s Shed lost a good friend in February 2024 when Scott Greenwood passed away. His partner, Susan, wanted to recognise the enjoyment that Scott had while a member of Pentlands Men’s Shed. She therefore decided to donate to us the money raised in his memory at and around the time of his funeral. This included a charity football match which his footballing friends arranged.

We are quite taken aback at the generosity of Scott’s family and friends, and wish to express our gratitude for the very substantial donation.

Donation from F4B Networking

A group of self-employed business-people covering various disciplines, e.g legal, financial, accounting, marketing, printing, design/website building and management, etc. meet regularly and have called themselves the F4B networking group. They invited Pentlands Men’s Shed to a breakfast meeting at The Dalmahoy in February 2023, where Stewart and Ron gave a presentation on the Shed, and received a donation of £300 from the group. This is very much appreciated and will help us to continue our work to support men’s wellbeing through the work of the Shed.

Three boys from Forrester High School in Edinburgh nominated Pentlands Men’s Shed as their chosen charity in the 2022 YPI (Youth and Philanthropy Initiative) competition. Having spent time meeting several members of the Shed, understanding what we do, and putting together a fantastic presentation, they ended up winning their school’s competition.

Co-op Local Community Fund

Pentlands Men’s Shed was selected as one of three local good causes to get some funding from the Co-op Local Community Fund in 2020/2021. The amount depended on how many people who shop at the Co-op chose to support our cause. Thanks to the fantastic support from the community, we have been awarded the magnificent sum of £1495.22 for the year.
