Covid arrangements (updated January 2022)

We are all looking forward to the time when the Covid 19 Coronavirus pandemic becomes a distant memory. Unfortunately it seems that this time remains some distance into the future. The good news is that with infection rates from the Omicron variant stabilising or falling, we have started to get back together in a limited way.

In line with Scottish Government advice, we ask all members and guests to take a Lateral Flow Test before coming along to the Shed. These tests are easy to conduct at home, and help to ensure that we don’t bring the virus into an environment where many of the attendees may be vulnerable due to age or because of health conditions.

Whenever the weather permits, we aim to meet outdoors at the Shed, however when the weather is colder we take appropriate precautions and meet safely indoors. The precautions include wearing masks, opening doors to ensure good ventilation, hand sanitising, avoiding shared use of tools and equipment, and keeping a register of attendees each time we meet.

Kitchen and toilet facilities at the Scout Hall are in use but with limited access, so we ask all members to act responsibly and help to keep everyone safe.

We still have the option of reverting to “Zoom” meetings as the fallback. (Members can obtain Zoom meeting details from the Calendar page). These arrangements allow members to keep in touch and support each other during this difficult time. If you would like to get involved, please contact us using the Contact Form or by email at PentlandsMensShed@pentlandsmensshed.org .

We also have an active WhatsApp group that lets us keep in touch with each other outside our meetings – and this will continue beyond the end of the pandemic.
