Happy birthday Jan
Apart from a visit from our MP we had another important event today: our Jan is 80. Jan (pronounced “Yan”) embodies what a shedder should be: welcoming, and happy to share his knowledge and experience. Jan has worked all over the world often building roads in unusual places and generally having fun! Happy birthday my friend we all wish you the best.

Scott’s the Top!
As some may know Scott, who sadly has Parkinson’s, was in hospital recently after taking a wee downturn. He then lost a bit of confidence and was struggling to come and see us. Gordon MacDonald MSP
Members of the Shed welcomed Gordon MacDonald MSP on 20 January 2023, to discuss funding for the Men’s Shed movement and highlight the benefits that Men’s Sheds bring to members and the wider community. Mr MacDonald answered (and asked) a number of questions, and had a good look round the Shed. He has already shown his support for the Shed in a number of ways, and it was good to meet him face-to-face in an informal Friday setting.

AGM
Great turnout today and thanks to Iain, Ali and John for their organisational skills. We certainly had some good debate around topics such as membership, activities, lady members and day trips as well as an update on Stewart’s finger, his shed blackout ,and other “incidents”. Thankfully his exploits have been appropriately rewarded!
It was very nice to see that we continue to attract new members even though we are still in Covid territory! We have a lot of good people who have some extremely interesting ideas so upwards and onwards.

Items from a house clearance
We have been offered some items from a house that is being cleared. If these are of interest to any members, or if you think we should keep them for the Shed, please contact Bill Roberts directly.
