Colinton Primary School Planters

Shed member Davy McLuckie wanted to say “thank you” to Colinton Primary School for the support that they gave to his grandson, and it was agreed that planters would be a nice way to acknowledge what they had done. Davy and his fellow members of the Shed constructed and delivered the planters, which were built from recycled pallets, and took the opportunity to get a couple of photos.

Currie Nursery “Bunny Hutch”

Currie Nursery “Bunny Hutch”

In response to a request from Currie Nursery, Alastair “2 Sheds”, with help from other members, has built an architectural masterpiece to house two rabbits. Domino and Woody now have a superb hutch that has been constructed from a big storage box and a host of other components including a dog crate and some bathroom panels. With signs carved by Stewart, the whole installation looks fantastic and we hope that the bunnies enjoy their accommodation.

Balerno Nursery – Planters and Signs

Jan agreed to take on a project for Balerno Nursery, to build some planters so that the children could learn about planting and growing flowers and vegetables. The job was quite sizeable, and Murray and others helped him to build these impressive, custom-designed items. Jan also engaged Stewart to carve some signs for the Nursery to highlight some of the items in the garden and playground area. We think the results are first class – and so do the leaders and teachers from the Nursery!

Premises! The story in pictures.

Premises! The story in pictures.

We obtained an old modular building to use as our new premises, and while it needed a lot of work, it was delivered to the site on 4 June 2021. With great excitement from all involved, it was swung into place by an expert truck / crane operator, and the real fun started as we refurbished it. This work has taken a while, but we now have a fully functional Shed workshop (with extensions and annexes!) and a first class meeting place for our members.
