Hi
Shed Notes Christmas Eve 2020

Hello all, looks as though some may manage a white Christmas even if it is just a frosty one, I have the sledge ready just in case. Also a couple of bits of christmas cheer which I wanted to share with you.
I received three boxes of Chocolates and a box of mince pies and a packet of biscuits from Lorraine (Coop) this afternoon, leaving it up to me how to distribute them among the shed! This was a wee thank you for the Colinton Nativity which has gone down well and they have raised £500.00 for a local charity in donations for tree decorations so the whole project was well worth while. I will hold on to (eat) the mince pies and biscuits but if anyone knows of a good deserving home for the chocolates please let me know or collect before lockdown. If anyone is going to manage to visit a care home or a hospital tomorrow they could take a box with them so let me know and we will see what can be done. Failing that they will keep and I promise not to eat them myself.
Also I received a Christmas card from Currie Primary on behalf of the Men’s Shed with a B&Q token card for £30) in it as a wee thank you in the interim for the Tepees and Mud Kitchen. I'll hold on to that one until the New Year and then work out what to do with it either directly or indirectly.
On the Shed business front I sent an email to Lyall and Ian after our Zoom meeting last Friday asking them if they were willing to carry on as office bearers until we could hold an AGM in person sometime in the New Year. Both have responded that they are willing to do so under the circumstances and I agree to do the same. The next step is to agree a postponement of the AGM. This requires a special meeting and a quorate number of replies so at the foot of this email there is a question requiring a yes or no answer by email which in these days of Covid will have to suffice as a special meeting. I have also agreed with Lyall and Ian that we will send out a short report of the year’s activities and accounts (as submitted to OSCR) just so that all the formalities are done. We do not need to approve or accept anything until the AGM whenever that may be.
Right that’s it for 2020, please all have as good a Christmas and New Year as possible under this strange and changing circumstances and all the very best for a Happy and Health New Year in 2021.
Best regards, stay safe and well
Alister

Question:
Do you approve postponing the AGM of the Pentlands Men’s Shed until we can meet face to face and conduct the business of an AGM in a less restricting fashion than using Zoom or similar.?

Please respond to this newsletter with a yes or a no. Iain and myself will collate the responses in due course. If sufficient Members agree 'yes' the current Office Bearers will continue to conduct the shed business until such time as this can be arranged.
If Members say no other arrangements will have to be made in due course. YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!

Best Regards,

Alister Skinner
