Hi

Shed Notes 17th December
Hello everyone,
The one thing that has not changed this week is that Christmas is still coming so whatever we are able to do/want to do/ or others may wish us to do in the intervening time there is just another week to keep all the options up in the air!
Mary and I are going to go it alone, the rest of the family approve but are disappointed and we'll miss the home made ceilidh but they see the sense of it and as long as we survive the aftermath of the free for all (which of course the politicians hope will not happen) then we can get together hopefully by Easter even if the vaccines are not widely distributed by then.
I was hoping to get an agenda for our AGM from Ian Mcpherson to put into this newsletter but it has not arrived yet although we spoke on the phone yesterday. I’ll get it out when it arrives but make a note for Friday 15th January as our Zoom AGM. Iain will give details of how to get into that in due course. Before that I would propose that we send out by email a chair report, Treasurer’s Report and Secretary report. That also covers the three Trustees fulfilling their obligations. Lyall, as Treasurer has already had our accounts verified and sent to OSCR, we will have to have them agreed at the AGM but I hope that will be a formality. A response (favourable or otherwise) to the email with the reports from all members would be a useful way of gauging this.
We also need to consider election of office bearers for the coming year and work out a way to vote on that. It is not quite straightforward as some members even on zoom may not be able to vote ( this happened with Harlaw Hydro to those using mobile phones and some laptops) so I would suggest that if we have anyone willing to stand for any post please let us know at least by 5th January so that we can canvas for seconders prior to the meeting and formalise a voting list for the AGM. This also applies to those in post should they wish to stand for re-election. Similarly for any other business advance notice by email by 5th January would give us enough time to email around for responses which can be considered at the AGM. I would suggest sending all of these emails to the shed website so that they are all captured in the one place for the AGM.
The Colinton Nativity scene seems to have gone down very well, John has been keeping a close eye on it, I have not managed to see it all lit up myself yet.
I’ve managed to get one wall of my new garage insulated with foil and faced with OSB, only three more to go and I can start moving stuff in. Have to pick my days to work outside given the weather and having to cut the boards outside but there’s still plenty to do in the house and I’m trying to keep the garage working as a workshop until I get all the cupboard shelving and eaves insulation done so that Mary can get her planning underway also.
Hopefully I’ll see some of you on Zoom tomorrow, including new member Terry whose fall turned out to be a bit more more serious that he at first thought and a few bones require to be mended! Stewart’s finger seems to be healing up unless he’s redrilled it! A refresher course on H&S will be required when we reopen the shed! Until then I’ll say cheerio, stay safe and well.
