Hi

Shed Notes 26th November
Hello all,
A busy week for some shed members ( the ones I know of – I’m sure everyone is busy!) since the last weeks notes starting after last Friday’s Zoom with the finishing and transportation of the Currie Primary Mud Kitchen to the school. Stewart, Jim and myself managed to get that done and there are some photos on the website for you to look at.
Then it was on to the Colinton Nativity, the OSB rough cuts were transformed by John into Mary, Joseph, crib and star over the weekend and early part of this week, John and I then went to see where the finished unit was going and armed with that information and our artists impression of what was wanted Geoff, John and myself constructed a stable at the shed today then took it all to bits again and it will be erected at the front of the church in Colinton a week Monday if all goes to plan. So far so good.
Jim meanwhile has continued to view Edinburgh from on high – he must be nearly finished of all the maintenance now, maybe he’s just enjoying the view if he has time to view his What’s App movies courtesy of Stewart giving us a preview of his conversion of his garage to a workshop – great job Stewart, Workshop and movies! All of us have been involved in the What’s App Quiz posted by Bill I think – difficult for any one of us to solve on our own but the power of thinking in the collective Men’s Shed is quite amazing!
Tomorrow morning we will have our usual weekly zoom meeting – John has suggested I try and put the zoom link into the notes so that he does not have to search back to find it – let’s see if it works -

Lyall has also been busy and has managed to get the Shed Accounts ready for the Charity Scrutiny and Robert Whitton another Currie resident (not yet a shed member!) has agreed to act as independent examiner for them. Lyall will be submitting them online in due course, I just need to find the password we used when we applied to become a charity and get my signature and Ian’s to Lyall for the submission. All going in the right direction. Lyall is still busy at work on the wrong days to join our zoom but at least his garage is a little tidier now that all the wood Iain and myself collect from the earlier garage clearance is now in the room at the shed and we did use some of it today for the Nativity scene.
Thats it for this week, hopefully I'll see some of you on Zoom tomorrow and we can catch up a bit more then. Iain could also explain the possible Zoom arrangements for the AGM in January suggested by Iain's wife as a quid pro quo for yet more aspects of shed member talents.
Cheers for now, stay safe and well.
Alister
