Hi

First of all a welcome to Gavin who joined the shed after visiting us last Friday, I’m glad we did not put you off Gavin and I think you saw a fair representation of what we are up to with Hugh and Martin with a computer related group, work on a mud kitchen for Murrayburn primary with Jan and Stewart under Alistair’s supervision, kindling production continuing with Jim in charge and Allister Ron and myself preparing our poster boards for a session at the Juniper Green Hub on the following Monday. Iain was the guide for the morning showing Gavin around.
Monday for Ron, Stewart, Allister and myself was a session at the Hub in Juniper Green where a pretty small space was packed with a lot of people. A lot of interest was shown in what we do and have done and a few reminders about stuff we have promised to do! It’s great having Stewart along to provide the flannel and excuses but we’ll have to find a way to help him fend off the women and thus stop him eating so many chocolate biscuits – whether he wants it or not!!.
At Juniper Green Hub Scott also paid us a surprise visit with his partner. Well done Scott, it was good to see you looking so well and hopefully it won’t be long before we see you back at the shed.
Lyle has reported that last Monday at the Shed Alistair 2 sheds continued work on the mud kitchen, Jim and Ian chopped more kindling and Keith and Lyall tidied up and did a bit of litter picking.
I’m not sure what I’ll do at the shed tomorrow apart from putting the display boards back and having at least one cup of tea. I quite enjoyed doing not a lot last week and watching others for a change. However I did notice I’ve not yet finished the rail on the ramp so I’d better get round to that before all the bits disappear, maybe already gone in the tidy up!?. I’ll also try to measure up sizes for the wood to replace the broken perches for the Friends of the Pentlands and pass that back to them for supply of the new timber. I have all the replacement fittings now and all but one bit for boring out the timber. When we have the wood we can organise a team to start the reconstruction of four or five perches. I’ve only taken one to bits at the moment to see what is involved. As the wood above ground is still good it may also be possible to salvage enough to make seats for additional perch units for them.
That’s it for now, hope all are well and starting to believe that spring is coming, I was getting a row from she who must be obeyed for tramping on the bulbs while trying to re landscape the bits of the garden which were covered with 'useful stuff' from our move the year before last winter, could not do it over the summer when things were growing and did not get round to it until now. Where does the time go?.
Take care and Cheers for now
