Hi
Shed Notes 12th January 2023
The dreich weather of the start of the New Year seems to be taking more of a hold than one would wish, It’s a good job we have indoor activities and a stock of firewood already cut!
There was a great turnout for the first shed opening of the year last Friday and most of the time was spent catching up on news from over the festivities. On the following Monday there was also a good turnout and more kindling was cut and bagged, Jan continued with getting the last bit of the patio slabbed and in the afternoon I went with my trailer and collected a load of non kindling wood which is still in the trailer for unloading tomorrow if time and weather permits. I phoned Stewart and he went down and opened the gates and I just drove in and we parked it and left it, again, due to weather.
The weather for tomorrow seems to be more of the same so its fortunate we have a talk from Friends of the Pentlands in the hall at 1030. The following week Gordon MacDonald MSP is visiting us at the men’s shed and we will talk about the government plan to withdraw funding from the SMSA. This may have added interest given that King Charles visited the Aboyne Community Shed today.
Brian called round this afternoon to collect a tile cutting table for continuation of his kitchen project and told me that he'd heard at football that Scott is or was in hospital. He did not have more detail but maybe Allister can find out more and let us know the full story, plus giving him our best wishes for a speedy recovery and return to the shed.
Given the poor weather I’m still concentrating on inside the house but am indeed now recycling some wood and furniture into the workshop so it’s being reorganised before it is even finished!
That’s it for tonight, hope you are managing to keep away from the colds and Flu and all the other bugs normal for a ‘normal’ winter.
Best regards
Alister
