Hi
Well it's not quite Hogmanay yet but it's Thursday, there's no official shed meeting tomorrow and I'm trying to tidy up the 'office' as I've no excuse with the lousy weather outside.
I hope that most of you have managed to have a good Christmas, sadly not all of us will have been able to do that due to illness, burst water pipes, helping Santa out of snowdrifts or generally trying to keep warm! plus a myriad of other things that seem to spring up on us a this time of year.
Tomorrow night Mary and I are off to the Usher Hall for the Annual Scottish Fiddle Orchestra Concert. Family participation has doubled this year as Martin and Mhari both play fiddle in the Orchestra and Martin also plays the Pipes, but they are joined this year by their daughters Rhona (Pipes) and Catriona (Percussion). We usually get a lift home but with all the people and instruments this year we'll have to take our own car. How everyone grows up!! On New Year's Day it's payback time when both families come to us for dinner but we are having a slightly different late afternoon/evening this year as our new living room is not big enough for a ceilidh so we are going to Mhari's for pudding and tunes where Niall (son) will join the 'band' with accordion, pipes and guitar! Mary and I can just about play a CD!
So that's it for this year guys, thank you to those who have managed to get back into the Shed after a prolonged enforced absence and though I suspect there may be a few covid-related episodes yet we're on the up and I hope that 2023 will be better for all of us.
A Happy New Year when it comes and all the best for 2023.
