Hi

First of all a big thanks to Jan and Jim for making it very easy to clear the snow from the front of the shed – the paving is working well guys.
Today Stewart, two sheds and myself cut and bagged some more kindling just to be sure we have enough for tomorrow when 33 bags are ordered. We now have that and more and also three crates of slabs ready for chopping as time and inclination allows. Iain McPherson arrived just as I was leaving to collect two bags for someone they were visiting later in the day. Stewart is taking ten bags away tomorrow for someone not far from him but, unless there are special arrangements and supplies available the kindling is only available on a Friday or Monday morning when there is likely to be someone at the shed. The kindling is still selling well and the weather and general fuel crisis may well keep us in business on that front for quite a while. Good job I got 1000 bags so plenty to fill yet!
Tomorrow we are going to have the first of our ‘winter Season’ talks – Given by Gail Millar, Iain’s Wife. The topic is the Maggie Cancer Centres. This will start around 1030 to allow us to get some tea organised beforehand.
The three lads from Forresters may be coming tomorrow. I have not heard how they got on in the marathon last weekend and they have finals night for the £3000.00 grand prize on 15th at the Forresters High School to which members of the shed are invited. Hopefully we’ll get more information on that but I hope some of you will be able to go. Snow permitting I’ll be up north so will miss out.
I’ve spent most of the afternoon penning a personal shed letter to Gordon Macdonald our MSP as well as sending the standard SMSA one which I have signed as chair on behalf of the shed. It seems crazy that they are penny pinching on this funding when they spend millions on much less effective ‘campaigns’. If you have not already done so I urge you to go to the SMSA website, download the petition form and fill it in if you can.

Regards to all, see some of you tomorrow
