Hi

Shed notes 29th September
Hello again, almost at the end of another month, where is the time going?
Quite a lot of work done at the shed last Friday and Monday with more tidying up, the store cleared and organised a bit more. The second school gate finished and painted and ready to go to the school when we get permission. I’m going to ask if we can take both gates and posts and pallets to the school in one load so that we have the materials there when we are allowed to work as I can’t always guarantee the trailer will be available. Tomorrow we may try to consolidate what that load would comprise. I'll also ask whether we will be allowed to work over a weekend to get the job done. We also need to get more slabs, the supply we thought we were getting has dwindled to 2 so that’s not enough, again the trailer will be required for that when we find some more. There's still enough for Jim, Jan and the squad to keep going at present! We will also soon be able to get the ramp in position but I'm getting ahead of myself!
Lyall is gearing up to getting the books ready for the charities commission so if anyone has any outstanding invoices or contributions to be reconciled please get them to him asap. I have a couple but I’ll also try and get a scrap run in next week both to clear up the store and also hopefully get some cash.
We may have a visit from pupils from Foresters High School tomorrow who are going to work with us on a charity project. for those there tomorrow I’m repeating below what I intimated last week. Having spoken to Douglas yesterday, I thanked him for thinking on us and agreed he can go ahead but I also invited him to the shed so that he could get a better feel of what it is all about. We don’t have to do anything except present ourselves in a good light for both our shed and the community wellbeing.
“My name is Douglas Reeve and I’m from Forrester high school based in Edinburgh. Me and a couple of my classmates are doing YPI. If you don’t know what YPI is, it is when all 3rd years in your school have to battle it out with presentations to win £3000 for a chosen charity and we would like to choose your charity if possible”
Tomorrow the weather may also dictate what else we do. Thought is being given as to how we store/present our tools in the shed and I would remind all those taking part in that discussion that every tool does not have to be on display or in the shed as we have cupboards below the bench in the room in the scout hall for spares/consumables and less used or duplicate tools. We are not yet at the stage of 'shedding' good duplicate tools when we have space to store them. They can be used as replacements or possible trades later and with the way prices are going at present I would include nails/screws etc in that even if they are slotted type. Maybe the first stage should be how we are going to store them and get that set up first before doing anything else? Just a thought. My sentiments co-incide exactly with Brian's - don't mind how you do it as long as we can see and be able to use, what we have.
I’ll take some more sign in sheets along tomorrow as Iain is still off on holiday. I’m envious of all the nice scenery and beautiful stone work on the buildings he has posted on what’s App.

I think that’s all for this week, Regards to all, take care and I’ll see some of you tomorrow!
