Hello again, Thanks to Iain for getting the notes out last Thursday, it was good to sit back and se what you were all up to!
I’m back from an excellent few days up north enjoying sunshine, some rain but little wind. Managed to get some chores done but also tried out quite a few of the cafe’s around and about before they all close for the season – autumn is definitely on it’s way although the leaves are taking their time in turning so far.
Iain got you all up to date with the last newsletter, don’t know what all went of on Friday last but on Monday Rab and Alastair continued making up the gates for the school, one was completed and painted by the time we left. Jan and Ian and Brian (I think) continued with the slabbing and I sorted out some more of the store and removed all of the wood and debris from under the shed so it is now ready for putting a surround on too. Had a thought about the kingspan offcuts Bill has sourced and thought that they would also be good for underfloor insulation of the shed?
There is a meeting as normal tomorrow morning but there will not be a meeting on Monday either of the shed or the Meeting Place. We discussed this on Monday and decided then it would be appropriate to remain closed on the final day of the Late Queen’s funeral arrangements. Following that, John, just back from his holidays, also emailed me on this and Iain has put a message of condolence up on the shed website home page which also states we are closed on Monday. Thanks to all for being on the same page so to speak.
Tomorrow will be the usual chat, tea/coffee and maybe some work. I have a car load of donated goodies for the shed including tubes of glue which will do to repair the Edinburgh Chairs so if anyone wishes to take on this small project please see me tomorrow. There is no refurbishing or repainting work required, just a reassembly to make them sturdy again - so no thoughts of painting/modifying or whatever Stewart or we will be in trouble with the lady who wishes this done and will give a donation to the shed for it!!.
Also from the same place in Balerno as I picked up the stuff today I have to go back tomorrow morning with a helper so that we can take out a folding workbench from the back of a garden shed and take it away for ourselves. There is garden equipment in front of it so rather than get tangled up in it today I arranged to go and pick it up tomorrow morning about 1030.
That’s it for this week, still catching up with the grass cutting and weeding from the time away so I’d better get back to it before the rain comes!
Regards to all, take care and I’ll see some of you tomorrow!
