Hi

Evening all.

CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR SHED OPENING TIMES
We are open tomorrow, closed Monday 25th December. We are open on Friday 29th December and closed on Monday 1st January 2024. Normal service resumes on Friday 5th January 2024.

SHED CHRISTMAS LUNCH
The Shed's Christmas lunch is at 1.30 p.m. on January 19th at the Riccarton Inn. Once the new (non festive season) menu is available I will let you all know so we can pre-order like last time.

SUGGESTIONS FOR SHED ACTIVITIES IN 2024
I floated the suggestion of more focussed activities that we could do during 2024 so that the Shed had a sufficient stock of merchandise to sell next Christmas. Ideas such as: reindeers, Santa Stop Here signs, Coasters, Yule Logs Christmas Trees made from plywood. Stewart Still showed me the Cheeky Monkeys and deer that he has made previously and they look terrific. Any other ideas are very welcome.

ONGOING ACTIVITIES
Jim and Jan are looking for more lengths of decking for the floor of the wood store extension, so if you know of any sources, please let us know. The weather seems to have improved somewhat so we may be able to get more kindling cut this week. More tools and equipment have arrived at the Shed and John will need to inspect them before releasing them for general use.

OUTINGS FOR 2024.
Jim Floyd has suggested a day on a narrow boat on the Union Canal once the weather improves. Any other suggestions are very welcome as well.

UPDATE ON SCOTT GREENWOOD
For those of you who know Scott, you will appreciate he suffers from Parkinson's Disease and it has hit him pretty hard: to such an extent he has been hospitalised for several months. He has had various drug regimes but is still showing a tendency towards being violent so is unable to be released from hospital. We wish him well at this time of year.

AND FINALLY...
To those of you who can't make it to the Shed but are members - Have a wonderful Christmas and maybe we'll see you in the New Year.

Keep well everyone
Best Regards,

Rab Mason
