Looks like it is going to tip it down tomorrow, so not a lot of outside activities. Let's use the time to catch up and have a blether. I've just come in from getting soaked walking the dog. She's OK with her fur coat, but I'm cold, wet and miserable....(no change there then I hear you say!!!).

In case you all forgot, the Riccarton Inn has been booked for our Christmas lunch. We decided to hold in January 2024 to give the Ricci a little boost in income at a traditionally quiet time of the year, so pencil in the 19th January at 1.30 p.m. for our lunch. (Christmas sweaters are not obligatory). Please note the amended time. Looks like a typo got in last week. It's definitely 1.30 p.m.

The CNC router in the store room needs some software to make it work. Martin is the expert, so he can have a go at getting it up and running. I have downloaded some drivers and printed instructions for it so I'll bring them along tomorrow. We'll see if we can get it to work. There are instructions with the machine but they are not very good.

Main thing is that Alistair 2 Sheds is bringing the milk!!!! We have plenty of biscuits (unless Lyall has eaten them all).

The Meeting Place's all-day Christmas Party is on the18th and you are all welcome to pop in if free. Cake ,fizzy adult juice ,live music and a Santa. Our very own Jan Osinski is playing his accordion at it.

CURRIE HIGH SCHOOL STORE SHED SOFFITS

Brian the Janitor at Currie P S has a request for us to renew the soffits on his school store/sheds. They are wooden, and have been battered over the years by the wind and rain etc. and are now letting water into the sheds. It's a smallish job requiring lengths of timber (and perhaps we could properly weatherproof them with some flashing/roofing material we have spare). I said I would get back to him next week. It looks doable for us. Just needs a stepladder which I am sure he can provide. I'll need a couple of volunteers to help me. I've added it to the project register on the website.
