Hi
Good evening,

CCTV
The top part of the column has arrived and Ali Skinner has added a wooden bracket to accommodate the camera. All we need to do now is:
  1. dig the power trench,
  2. lay the power cable,
  3. install the column,
  4. fit the camera,
  5. test the whole thing
  6. and VOILA🔭🪜
KINDLING
We have received at least two orders for 10 bags each thanks to Stewart's advert in the local market. Maybe need to move some of the bags from the tarpaulin store into the wood store so the stock is available to sell.

ANTI-INTRUDER HEDGE
Stewart Still has ordered a Blackthorn hedge to plant as a deterrent to vandals along the south side of the site. The plants should arrive next month. We may have to move the existing small trees to new locations to make room for them, but we can discuss that in the next few weeks. The good thing is we'll be able to harvest sloes from the hedge every Autumn and make Sloe Gin!!!

LIVINGSTON SHED
Dave Piper, chair of the Livvie shed has invited us to their establishment on the 24th October. So check your diary and we'll get the trip organised. Once we know the numbers we can sort out the cars. Additionally, Julie was at our Shed on Monday and took away some tools she thought might be useful to the Livingston shedders.

TOOLBOX TALKS
We had a quick toolbox talk on jig saws while having our coffee break on Monday. Hopefully we are a bit more aware of the 'whys and wherefores' of them. If anyone wants more info, please see Stewart Still or me.

SOLVENTS CABINET
It looks like the cabinet that we thought we were going to get, but didn't because we were too late in bidding for it, is back on the market, and this time the seller is going to keep it for us. He's on holiday for a week, so when he returns we'll buy it from him - all being well.

CURRIE PRIMARY SCHOOL - Bird boxes
Emma Thomson, the teacher involved in the original plan of getting the students to assemble the bird boxes in the school has decided that what she would like us to do instead, is to assemble the boxes at the Shed and take them along to the school so that she can put together a teaching class on where to locate them, birds breeding season etc. So that's what we'll do in the next week.

CURRIE PRIMARY SCHOOL - Atrium
While I'm at the school delivering the bird boxes I'll ask about how they want to progress the Atrium refurbishment. I'll keep you all posted on progress on this project.

CURRIE PRIMARY SCHOOL - Primary 1 and 2 gate
Ali Skinner and I will attend school tomorrow afternoon and hopefully repair the seized castor and fit a couple of bolts to the top hinge. That should fix things. But maybe not!!! Ali is still having electrical contractor problems so may not be able to go in the afternoon. Watch this space!!!

TRAILER
There has been a conversation on the WhatsApp group concerning getting a dedicated Shed trailer. But it may be that we can work things between us and the Scouts so that we have use of a trailer on a constant basis. We'll let you know how things progress.

AND FINALLY...
Stewart Still has nominated himself for EEJIT OF THE YEAR - He was asked to dismantle and remove a trampoline from a house in Currie. So he went to what he thought was the correct house (it had a trampoline in the garden) and removed it. It now transpires it was the WRONG HOUSE!! Classic!!

That's it for this week. Hope you are all well and I'll see you tomorrow.

Best Regards,

Rab Mason
