Hi
Good evening,

CCTV
We had a good effort last Friday and Monday clearing the space for the CCTV power trench. We will wait on Ali Skinner to direct the digging operation to ensure we do it correctly. We are also awaiting the top-hat attachment to be delivered from the supplier, which should be here in the next couple of weeks.

KINDLING
Once again, a good effort from everyone, especially Murray Sinclair, who toiled away on the chop saw for most of the morning, (although he was first to the coffee break and last to leave it!!!) Well done Murray!!

EEJIT OF THE YEAR
I'd like to nominate myself for the award as I tried to light the brazier fire with non-flammable clean spirit!!! I mean, who ever heard of a paint cleaning spirit that wasn't flammable??? Only when I read the instructions after repeated failures to ignite did I notice its non-flammable property!!! There's a moral in there somewhere as well...

SCOUTS BARBEQUE
It was good to see several shedders at the barbie on Sunday, even though the weather was a bit 'iffy'. Plenty of burgers and hot dogs to go round.

LIVINGSTON SHED VISIT INVITATION
Dave Piper, chair of the Livvie shed has invited us to their establishment on the 24th October. So check your diary and we'll get the trip organised. Once we know the numbers we can sort out the cars.

TOOLBOX TALKS
As I mentioned last week we would like to start toolbox talks on the various pieces of equipment we have. So every Friday and Monday an experienced user will show the rest of us how things work safely. This will be done after coffee time (time permitting). I'm repeating it again because we didn't manage to get one done last week!!

SOLVENTS CABINET
We are going to buy a proper solvents cabinet to keep the ‘nasties’ outside the shed, or if anyone has such a cabinet going spare, please let us know.

CURRIE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Shedders no longer require any vetting/safeguarding checks as the teacher we are liaising with has just emailed me to say that a teacher will be present at all times we are in the presence of the students, so we can now plan how to go about refreshing the atrium space in the school.

PPE
ARCO have now relocated back to Linlithgow from Falkirk and I have bought some pairs of protective gloves that I will drop off tomorrow. Their physical shop is very small and does not hold much stock, so any gear we buy from them will be done on-line.

That's it for this week. Hope you are all well and I'll see you tomorrow.

Best Regards,

Rab Mason
