Hi

KINDLING
Another good effort from the kindling squad will not go amiss tomorrow!!!!

MEN'S SHED OF THE YEAR 2023
I sent the application to the the SMSA website at the start of the week and they confirmed they received it. Here's hoping!!!

PLANTERS
We're making good progress on making several planters for worthy causes. The pile of pallets is gradually reducing!!!

CCTV MAST
The mast has now arrived as you have probably seen from Lyall's photo. We'll need to inspect it and ensure it fits the hole in the concrete (experience shows that not all diagrams correspond to the real thing!!!). Then we'll need to dig a proper trench to contain the electric cable etc.

FORRESTER SCHOOL AND THE YOUTH PHILANTHROPY INITIATIVE
We are going to Forresters School tomorrow morning, so those of you wanting to be there at the presentation please wear clothing appropriate to the occasion (Stewart, please DO NOT WEAR YOUR TUTU!) We leave the shed at 1030hrs sharp. We'll work out the number of cars needed once we know who's coming.

BO'NESS AND KINNEIL RAILWAY VISIT
It's still on for 19th September, so keep you diary clear. Meet at the shed at 0930.

BEECH TABLE FOR OUTDOORS
Ali Skinner and I removed some newly felled beech wood cuttings from a house in Colinton this week. All going well he will bring a couple of pieces which may be suitable for making an outdoor table for the shed at some point in the future.

CURRIE PRIMARY SCHOOL ATRIUM
Ali Skinner and I met with one of the teachers on Wednesday to give the school Ali's 3D graph. (There was a medical emergency in progress when we arrived. An extremely disabled student had stopped breathing so the emergency services had been summoned and there were two ambulances on site when we arrived). Claire Pope, the teacher, explained that the school's atrium, (an outdoor space surrounded by classrooms), had fallen into disrepair and wondered if the shedders would be able to bring it back to life 'working' alongside the students. We thought it would be feasible, but since then she has contacted us saying any shedder would have to be PVG checked. I have asked her to clarify exactly what would be involved, and it's something I'd like to discuss tomorrow. She has suggested a start date of 27th September at 1330hrs assuming all PVG checks have been completed, which we think is extremely optimistic.

FOREIGN CORRESPONDENTS
It's being really interesting looking at Iain Millar's photos of Canada. Very much like parts of Scotland but on a much grander scale!!! I imagine he'll still be on his way home (or perhaps too jet lagged) to attend the shed tomorrow, but we wish him a safe journey home. It was also kind of him to keep us in touch with 'customers' while he was away; the power of the Internet!!!

MURRAYBURN PRIMARY SCHOOL
Looks like they want us to do more stuff for them, so Ali 2 Sheds is going to check things out.

That's it for this week. Hope you are all well and I'll see you tomorrow.

Best Regards,

Rab Mason
