Hi

Afternoon everyone

THE MAN SHED SHOW AT THE EDINBURGH FRINGE AND ALI SKINNER'S SENDING OFF
Inspired by the work of the Scottish Men's Sheds Association, Man Shed is a one-man theatre piece which explores the joy of sheds, the pain of loss and the comfort of friendship.
WARNING - (Themes of loss, grief, love and friendship. Not suitable for babies. Contains distressing or potentially triggering themes). I imagine everyone will make their own way to the Gilded Balloon and we will then commandeer a bus after the show, ensuring we behave impeccably (at least before the lunch!!). We are attending the 16th August show and then scurrying back to the Riccarton Inn for a late lunch to send off Past Chairman Ali Skinner.
Martin, you're in charge of getting everyone to the bus on time!!!!

PALLETS SOURCE
I was talking to an employee of the Tiphereth charity this week and the subject of pallets came up. They are situated just up the road from my home in Colinton and support vulnerable adults by offering employment etc.
Now that I no longer work at Drem, I don't have a guaranteed supply of pallets, but Tiphereth may be able to replace Drem. They currently burn their pallets, and I suggested they set them aside and we can uplift. I gave him a business card and explained what we used them (the pallets that is...) for and the employee will speak to his boss on Monday, when he returns from holiday. Here's hoping...

ALISTER SKINNER'S LUNCH
We currently have 12 attendees as at time of writing. If you haven't chosen your food yet, please do so now and let me know tomorrow, along with the deposit of a fiver.

WOOD STORE (ADDITIONAL)
Jim and Jan are making steady progress building the additional space for wood. The initial 'stilts' are in the ground and it won't be long before the shelving is installed. Watch this space!!! Any other volunteers, please report to Jim and Jan.

WOOD STORE (ORIGINAL)
We have all the required materials now so it is now a matter of organising a team to build the sloping roof, taking into account the additional safety constraints that working at height imposes on us.Ali Skinner will lead this.

SAD NEWS ABOUT THE RABBITS
Unfortunately, Domino, one of the rabbits at the Currie P S Nursery passed away last week, having suffered a cardiac arrest at the vet's. So Woody's on his own just now. Should we alter the name board?????

LOTHIAN MEN'S SHED NETWORK MEETING
Tim Green from the SMSA has informed us that Corstophine Men's Shed are hosting the next meeting of the Lothians Men's Shed Network at their shed at 5 Kirk Loan Corstorphine EH12 7HD on Thursday 31st August 1300hrs. I'll attend as chairman, and if there is anything you want me to raise with them, please let me know asap. (I'm also looking for a buddy to come with me).

AND FINALLY - MURDO'S PUZZLE
Murdo (hopefully) is bringing in a date puzzle as per Whatsapp and Martin is going to solve it.

Keep well and hope to see you all tomorrow.

Best Regards,

Rab Mason
