As you may recall, we have planned the 2023 AGM of Pentlands Men's Shed for Friday 30 June 2023. I will send out the agenda closer to the date of the meeting.
One item on the agenda will be Election of Trustees / Office Bearers. We have a committee of up to 5 members, currently Alister Skinner (Trustee and Chairman), Lyall Downie (Trustee and Treasurer), Iain Millar (Trustee and Secretary), Ian McPherson (Trustee), and John Wilson (Trustee). Under the constitution all of the Trustees are entitled to remain in post for a further year.
However, the situation with regards to the Trustees is as follows:

- Ian McPherson will stand down from the committee this year.
- Alister Skinner has indicated that he wishes to stand down as Chairman this year, although he is happy to remain as a Trustee for another year.
- Alister will be happy to act as deputy chairman for a year before leaving the committee next year.
- The result of these changes is that we will have a vacancy on the committee for one new Trustee, to join as Chairman. Having Alister as deputy should provide support to any new Chairman.
We therefore seek nominations for one new Trustee who will take on the role of Chairman of the Shed. Any nominations must include both a proposer and seconder, and have the agreement of the nominee that he is prepared to stand. Please send any nominations to me by the end of May, so that I can include them in the formal paperwork. If we have more than one nomination, we will require a vote at the AGM.
