I was at the shed on Monday having finished all my jobs up north in excellent weather and even managed a few local trips and tried out the new cafe in the village (twice!) before deciding to leave on the Sunday and avoid the bad weather coming in. Jim seems to be having good weather and nice scenery on his (working!) cruise. I’ve not a lot more news to give and some of it is not what we always hope for but here goes.

I do not have an update on Scott and Craig both of whom are having medical attention. I hope things are improving chaps and we send you our best wishes.

Keith’s wife Doreen has sadly passed away and Keith had already alerted us to the fact that he would be missing from the shed for a few weeks. Doreen’s Funeral is on Friday, 5th May at 11am and thereafter at Baberton Golf Club for those who may wish to attend. Ian McPherson told me on Monday that he and his wife will be going to the funeral. Unfortunately this is the same day as our get together with Currie Primary for a chat and some food as a thank you for all the work we have done for them. This is planned for 9-30 until 10-30 ish. I have to give Fiona numbers and any dietary requirements on Friday afternoon (tomorrow) so will have a list at the shed in the morning and those of you not there tomorrow but wishing to go to Currie Primary please email me via the website with name and dietary requirements please. They won’t let strange old men wander around the playground!!

While I’m on reminders a further one also for 9th May the shed regional meeting at Newhaven with the Leith Men’s Shed. No more details of timing on this yet.

My intention would be to let Martin have first call for the Shed and then open it to other members if it is not of use to the shed. Again please respond quickly, Andrew wishes his loft cleared!
