Hi

A little glitch in trying to send out the notes this week as I could not log into the members area of our website. However I contacted Iain and it looks as though he may have been able to work his magic on the website as I'm now logged in and going to send this out now just in case the gremlins come back.
There was so much going on this week I’ve probably forgotten some of it. Stewart carried on with Scout signs, Alex made new bench arm rests so that he could better relax at home and Murray got stuck into sorting out the table of the rough circular saw which is now a level playing field. Boxes and rabbit hutches featured prominently on Friday and Monday and lots of ideas coming forward for more of the boxes when they come. By Monday mid day the trailer was loaded up with all the modified boxes (now planters) ready for delivery to the school on Wednesday morning. Many thanks to Stewart, Rab, and Jim for help with this on the Wednesday morning when we met up with Marion and Geoff and placed them at Nether Currie school. Stewart took photos for the website. We then went back to the shed for a cuppa before heading off into town when we were joined by Murray and Murdo and started to clear a shed which was definitely more like a tardis. All four cars were loaded, delivered to the shed, emptied and then Stewart, Rab and myself went back with the trailer in the afternoon and cleared the scrap and a large steel cabinet. All of that is still in the trailer at the shed to be sorted and away tomorrow or Monday by which time we will hopefully have sifted the rest of the material too so no prizes for what we will be doing tomorrow. John, don’t have a fit, it’s all outside and it’s your decision whether it goes inside or away!!. There is a lot of leather and leatherwork tools which are probably of no use to the shed but if anyone knows of someone who does this craftwork we will gladly donate but can’t store in the shed. There were also a couple of bicycles and bicycle parts and one of the neighbours agreed to take those items to a bike charity shop his son works at so all in all we helped out with benefit to all. However I’m sure those helping were pretty knackered by the end of the day, I know I was and managed to hit the scout gate with the back nearside end of the car while reversing the trailer in looking at the camera and not in the mirror!! However only minor damage to a fog light which will need replaced. S. Still panel beating services and A. Skinner T cut polishing sorted the rest!
A reminder that we have two dates in the Shed Diary for May. Friday 5th for A get together with Currie Primary and 9th May the shed regional meeting at Newhaven with the Leith Men’s Shed. I know it’s only April but spring is here and there’s many plans and projects in competition with the shed and the time seems to be flying by. I’m reminded of this when I take home ‘other projects’ which mean the to do list at the house doesn’t get worked on with the importance it deserves! However we will soon have a garden seat which takes care of one of the issues (storage) and we can sit and discuss the remaining items in relative comfort when the sun is shining!
Take care everyone, hope to see some of you tomorrow.
Regards
Alister
