Hi
I'm back from a very windy but sunny week up in the North. Unlike the west side we had dry weather but the wind was pretty disagreeable at times. However a good holiday was had with no crowds or problems with social distancing - let’s hope we manage some more before the virus finds another way to spike us!
I was not going to bother putting a note out tonight as I had no real news to impart on shed matters but I did speak with Graham before I left to appraise him of our plans and to ensure they fitted in with what the Scouts wished. He has been busy with his committee and I can report that Grant will put a cable in for us soon for electricity and we have a draft working memorandum to discuss which seems very fair and generous to us. Although this is a matter which will ultimately be agreed with the trustees it would be good if those present tomorrow could have a look at what is proposed so that we know we are going forward on the correct basis.
This made me think that even now, when we are managing to meet it may be an idea just to put out a note on the Thursday to appraise members of what requires to be discussed and to do that then on the Friday with those members present. It also gives opportunity for those not able to come that week to give an opinion also if they so wish or to bring up any issues they may want discussed. Comment on this please.
I’ve started on my report for the AGM and got as far as when we finally decided on a name which could start us on the process of becoming a charity and get a Bank Account – I knew we had two names earlier but did not realise that there were actually three before Pentlands Men’s Shed came into being!
That’s it for now, hopefully I’ll see some of you tomorrow but if not enjoy whatever you are doing.
Regards to all
Alister
