Hi
Given that the weather is holding out so well and the COVID restrictions have been eased why not make your morning walk/outing as a visit to the back of the shed? There is plenty of room for us to mingle in groups of six, get to see each other again and just have a wee blether. The zoom will still be operational but I think Iain said that he was going to be out walking with one of his pals and some more of the ‘regulars may take advantage of just having a wee meet up. I will check with Graham by way of this email and a text to make sure we can use the toilet if necessary, observing all precautions but there will be no teas or coffees unless you bring your own!
An update on the ground clearance is that we are now in a position to select a contractor and Jim, Stewart, Lyall and myself will put a plan of action in for that over the next week and see where that takes us. We can also have a quick look tomorrow and see if any other preparatory work is required. One thing I’d like to ask – does any shed member have a laser level or access to one? I have a small one but it’s not very good in strong sunlight as it is not powerful enough.
My solar panels are doing great, fully tested with the weather we have been having so I’m really pleased that they survived the move and various storage points along the way.
Lyall is dealing with/has dealt with the subscription for the SMSA, I have not yet sent the revised constitution to the Charity Commissioners but it is in hand. We can discuss the wee library project tomorrow with those at the shed.
I had my second vaccine on Tuesday, Dentist on Wednesday and a run to the recycling depot today so lots of boxes ticked this week. Garden is looking as though there may be potential to grow things!, greenhouse is over half full with stuff coming on.
That’s it for this week, I look forward to seeing some of you at the shed tomorrow 10.00 onwards even if it is just to say ‘hello’ on the way to somewhere else. The zoom channel will still be open although we won’t have Iain to guide us but please use it if you wish and see who else turns up. I’m not sure yet if we can join in from the shed with one of those fancy iphones!!?
In the meantime stay safe and well, enjoy the changes and make the most of them.
Best regards, Alister
