Hi
I had a bit of difficulty with the website trying to find the place to send an email this week. Eventually used the search facility which came up with something I could use - have you changed anything Iain or is it just another 'upgrade' to confuse us?
A repeat/change of reminders to start with.
AGM on 17th June, please turn up if you can. All relevant information is out via email to members. It is important that all members have an opportunity to have their say or agree to what is being done on their behalf so can I please urge you to either come along if you are able or indicate by return to Iain’s email(s) what you, as a voting member, would wish. While attendance at the shed is not mandatory it is helpful to us when applying for funds to be able to (truthfully) say how many members we have and an email track always helps the Trustees. It is unlikely that we will have zoom as there is no wi fi hub in the hall and playing around with mobiles may be a distraction.
Due to a double booking by the contractor the tree surgery planned for the 8th June is now taking place tomorrow so I’ve agreed with Graham that we will just keep out of their way but it may be possible to watch from a distance and see how the professionals do it!
Last Monday night was Birdbox assembly night with the cubs and it went very well. Cubs/leaders/parents/shedders all had a great time and all learnt something on the night. I understand one bird box was up in a tree by 8.30! Fantastic feedback, thanks to all.
Last Friday, Jan, Iain and I finished off the levelling for the container and laid out blocks, on the Monday John and I sorted out some more tools and made sure we had sufficient for the work on the birdboxes. Stewart also delivered the tree plaque to Nether Currie School on wednesday I think. Their tree is now planted but has yet to reach the height of the Plaque!
Tomorrow, due to the tree cutting activities we will be in the Hall or out the back if the weather is nice but definitely time to have a chat, maybe some curling or other games and a cup of tea. we can also comisserate with Jim on his long waits at the airports and check with John that everything is still ok for his flights!
That’s it for this week, I hope to see some of you tomorrow, stay well and please come to the shed when it suits and if you can’t come in person for any reason but have news you can share with all of us please send Iain an email via the website and he’ll keep us all in the loop.
Best regards
