Hi
I'm writing this on a cold but sunny(just now!) afternoon while trying to get my new computer to work in the way I want it to and not how windows would like me to do it! I’ve got lots of control systems and data readers which are much earlier than windows 10 and although they say it is not backwardly compatible it is if you know how - so my grandson is on the case! Thank goodness the US still uses software built for the old DOS systems and they find a fix every time there is a windows upgrade as it is easier to do that than bring back a satellite or a deep ocean instrument further complicated by being down a borehole!
I don’t have much to report this week, the lino for the floor has arrived and John, Rab and Alastair have devised a laying plan. Stewart and myself had plans for doing the door canopy on the shed on Monday but the weather was dodgy so we started on the foundation area for the store and with the help of Hugh we managed to get an area levelled out to allow the container to be dropped in place without doing much more work in case it arrives with minimal notice although that’s unlikely at the moment. We need to move the rainwater barrel to the opposite end of the shed gable and lay out three approximate footings and then we do not need to do any more before delivery.
However I did not go back to the shed this week to do the canopy and cancelled any help planned as we got on so well on the Monday and the weather is not of the best to try and keep warm even when it’s not windy or raining. It's not a job for a Friday when we are all meeting as it is work on the shed steps and puts it out of bounds for in/out movements.
Tomorrow we may be lucky and have a dry morning so maybe a bit of barrel moving and more work on the playbus. Fiona has still not heard about access to the school grounds in the holidays so I have made no definite plans for that but would hope to get the bus and the wee library over there plus the fence so that we have some clearance around the scout hut and our shed. We’ll see! I'll ask around tomorrow to see who may be free to help if we get permission.
Iain has sent out a circular regarding the AGM and we would like as many as possible to attend. I think we are going to try and do an in person and maybe also by zoom so we’ll have discussion on that tomorrow and finalise what we’d like Iain to set up by way of an agenda.
Nothing more for the moment, hope all are well and that Lyall is getting closer to being let off the covid restriction leash, thanks for the notification Lyall, I don’t think you passed it on to anyone on Monday- at least I have not heard of anyone blaming you and I’ve done a negative test since then and will do another in the morning.
Regards to all, hope to see some of you tomorrow.
