Hi
I’m up north unexpectedly so will not be at the shed tomorrow and possibly also not the next Friday either. We were planning to go up mid next week for a short break anyway so given the price of diesel we decided to just stay up for a while if the weather is ok.
Last week I got bits of the playbus made with help from Jack, Stewart and Alistair. I’ve now sourced rear (red) lights and a longer steering rod so we should be setup for when I get back. I’ve not yet heard from the school as to whether we can have access over the holidays but certainly will not be going there when school is in given the covid situation just now. Discussion continued with the shelving vs lighting in the shed and all the dismantled bookcase was delivered.
Hopefully Ron has managed to get new spec frames, having broken the ones he had on the arm of the gate at the shed. Said gate is now modified courtesy of Stewart regarding the bar which now has a locking pin on it and I was due to fit hooks and rope stays for when the gate is open this Friday but it will have to await my return as I was not able to pass on the bits before I left Edinburgh. On Monday John went back and had another look at how the shelves could be confiured without impinging on the lighting and I think that a solution has been reached..
Also on Monday while I was doing the outside door frame and needed to look at the roofing sheets under the tarpaulin I discovered lots of OSB left from the roof and shed lining so they are now in the shed, as a replacement for the sacrifical bench top. Sorry Jim, after all your hard work – our corporate memory of what we have is somewhat lacking! However this gets us a better surface and a bonfire for Friday if the weather allows.
We also decided that the old venetian blinds were obsolete as they required too much alteration and some of the slats were very brittle. Stewart and John have measured up for new roller blinds and I think he was going to pass on the details to Lyall for ordering. I was going to do the same for the dust extractors but events overtook me and I’ve not done that yet.
So yet again it is all go. I suspect the weather may have a hand in what you do on Friday but whatever you do enjoy yourselves and try to stay COVID free.
regards to all for now.
