ShedLogo2
Hi

I had not planned to send out the notes this week as I had no idea what went on last week but Iain will not be at the shed tomorrow and through communication with him today I now know that one of my email addresses seems to have been hacked and cannot receive any incoming mail so I’ve been out of the loop as regards what went on last week until Iain forwarded details on to me via another email address. Now I know first hand what it is like to be left out of the loop! So it’s important that we get lines of communication sorted and Iain has asked SMSA for advice or help on that..
I’ve also managed to get in contact with Bill Coleman who sends his regards to all and hopes he’ll be back at the shed soon. He also has had issues with emails and has been out of the loop since he stopped getting the notes quite a while ago. I don’t think he was registered for the members section of the website so could not use that properly either. However Iain and I are on the case and should get him up and running again soon.
Rab has also got some great news and for those of you who don’t know about it here’s what I know now. Again apologies if you have seen this already but I only received it this morning.
From Rab for all members:
I have been in contact with Tony Quinn at James Erskines Interiors of
Edinburgh. Tony is their flooring estimator.
I'm in the process of recarpeting a couple of rooms in the house and
thought I would try my luck at cadging any excess/spare industrial
flooring that Erskines might have.

And indeed they do!!

Tony is amenable to flooring the shed, but needs a plan of how it is to
be floored. He has more than enough material to floor it, but it is not
all the same kind: there's industrial lino, carpet tiles etc.
So he would really appreciate a firm idea of where we would like
different types of flooring to be put down.
All he would take in return is something permanent on the Shed website
advertising Erskines.
Therefore, if you guys are up for it.... make a floor plan of the shed
showing the positions of the bench legs, any other 'obstructions' on the
floor, and give it to him.

This is great news Rab and I suggest that on Friday we get yourself, John and Jim to prepare said plan with materials options and you take it away to give to Tony. Also obtain a logo from them so that Iain can put it on the donor page of the website when the job is done.

Tomorrow, weather permitting I’m going to make a start on putting the playbus together for the Currie Primary. I had hoped to get more information from them regarding when we can go to work at the school but no details on that yet. The Bus and the wee library can be set up at the shed then dismantled and taken round when ready, hopefully all of the parts are still there.

I Look forward to seeing some of you at the shed tomorrow,
regards to all for now.
Alister
