Hi

With a bit of luck and a fair wind we may be able to re-open for normal shed meetings in the next week or so given the optimistic sounds coming from the Government. Lets hope that continues to be the case and while restrictions are easing a cautious sigh of relief is emerging in the Skinner Household and we plan to head north for a couple of weeks sometime next week if all continues to go to plan.

Work on the shed is coming on well. John and myself had another session finishing all of the internal lining, window ingoes, ceiling coving, skirtings , door frames and most of the joint filling. Friday should finish this and the last of the window framing ready for a clear up.
We will also have to clear up the workspace in the scout hall room which should now be back to normal operations for everyone as the meeting room is finished and all excess materials, ladders and the like can now be removed also. Scout meeting have started so the cupboards and benches are now regularly used again.

We may still have to rationalise what we have in there but that is not going to be possible until the shed is ready so we will have to make it more tidy and useable for others as well as ourselves. That’s this Friday’s job for one or two if anyone wishes to come as we are not ‘open for normal business’ just yet but can accommodate twos or threes in different chores inside, out and in the shed.

I have also submitted the Grant completion form to the council having had it OK’d by Lyall and Iain earlier in the week.

John has secured four internal flush doors as a basis for our long shed bench and they are currently in his greenhouse, Painting of the shed will however be the next step. At this stage I should also perhaps ask Bill Coleman, whose bench we have been using for a lot of the joinery work, can we incorporate it into the ‘fitting out’ of the shed? Comment please Bill, we still have it and it has been most useful.

Not much more to report tonight, anyone coming to the shed tomorrow it’s going to be chatting and tidying in groups of two to three, view progress in the shed, tidy that too and discuss options for the next phase or two.
Best Regards,
