Hi

Shed notes 13th January

Well here we are again, another week past and COVID is still going its rounds and staying close. Stewart told me today that Alastair Mckenzie tested positive yesterday so that will set the scout schedule for getting the conference room back into circulation a wee bit askew. John and myself have been plugging away at the shed rebuild and have almost completed the internal linings. We hope tomorrow to have a tidy up of the inside ready for some finishings next week ready for painting if all goes to plan.
Stewart and myself met up with Jack today who was busy organising some renovations in his house and as he’s not allowed to bend and lift yet after his eye op his wife needed a hand to get some storage heaters out of their flat. The job was made easy as Ann had already removed the bricks so we were able to take them to the shed to join the ones from Jim which will now complete a base for the Currie Primary fence if we can ever get round to building it. Jack also gave a donation of £20.00 to the shed for our help, thank you Jack. I took the heaters to the scrappie along with the remaining iron junk that was around the shed plus the scrap tools and copper and brass that Ian and Iain collected from garages and came away from Daltons with £94 which was most welcome as I have a frightening bill to give to Lyall for all the ‘odds and ends’ of fastenings, glues, fillers and finishing woods the paperwork of which has been building up over the past few months. Not even half of which is covered by the scrap and my purchase of the thick osb sheets which I got from the shed for my own use. I know Stewart also has outstanding shed invoices for Rhones and we need to get all of those incidental expenses to Lyall before we embark on any more plans for internal and outside work etc to see what we have left in the kitty. I will also be submitting the Grant completion form to the council early next week having plenty invoices to hand to cover their grant of £5000.00 which we are now well over but still within our overall estimate of £8500 (I think), all excluding labour.
Not much more to report tonight, we have a new member Ryan who has joined but already knows that we are not operating as 'normal' just now. Anyone coming to the shed tomorrow we will be outside doing tidying, possibly with a bonfire to help us warm up and two or three at a time will be able to view progress in the shed after we have opened all of the windows. Let’s hope we can break out of this mould soon but in the meantime stay safe and if at all in doubt we won't be offended if you stay away but please keep in touch. The zoom meeting is still possible and details are at the bottom of this email so some of you may wish to use that to make contact.
Best Regards to all,
