Hi

It’s a good job I progressed my workshop to operational last week as the sales team seem to have done very well at taking orders for Christmas trees. I think all parts are now ready for assembly to meet all orders (120 at last count) – we’ll see but thanks to all for a great effort. I think I said already that this will go a long way to covering our insurance premium for the year when we get that sorted out and something like this would be a good way to ensure that we can cover that in future years too. I have a box of posts to take to the shed tomorrow to go with the 50 or so trees already assembled. Hopefully someone has enough screws! I’m not suggesting we do them all tomorrow but although I was not there last Friday I believe quite a lot were done then.
Alastair has also started to paint a larger tree which we will take for the front of the coop at Corslett Place for our cheque presentation at 2pm on Saturday. Please be there if you can manage.
Iain may want to discuss insurance tomorrow also – we now have another proposal from the SMSA broker which is slightly cheaper and does seem to be more aligned to what we require as a shed. Discussions are still ongoing and your input will be useful to ensure we have covered all we want to cover and at a sensible price.
Stewart has also made a 'shed invoice' for discussion and if accepted will go on the website for project costings and payments to members as well as invoicing for the job. Lyall and he are working on it but hopefully Stewart will have a paper copy tomorrow although the one to use, after agreement will be on the web.
I’ve been summoned to Pentlands Medical Centre for my booster jab on Sunday, was getting worried that I had been forgotten but was getting the run around hen I tried to enquire then out of the blue came this letter so I was on a list somewhere!
As well as all the trees which have been cut there are now four bags of offcuts at the shed for disposal, maybe Stewart can put his fire raising skills to work tomorrow and we can have tea round the camp fire?!
That’s it for this week, hope to see some of you Tomorrow and on Saturday.
Best regards and stay safe and well
Alister
