Hi

Evening all

FILMING OPPORTUNITY
It's all gone quiet on the filming front... still no contact from the BEEB. We'll just wait and see what happens...

PENTLANDS MEN'S SHED ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2026
It's being held in the Scout Hall on Friday, 9th October at 1100hrs. Agenda items gratefully accepted. Please give them to Nigel.

CHRISTMAS
It's only 2 and a bit months till Christmas and organisations are starting to gear up for it already.
This year the Currie Community Centre Winter Fayre will be held on:
Sunday 29th November 2026
11am–3pm
Stallholder set-up from 10am
I've already replied that the Pentlands Men's Shed would like a stall.
Stall fee: £20
The fee remains the same as last year and includes:

  • 1 x 6ft table
  • 1 x chair
  • Refreshment tokens for up to 2 people per stall
PROJECTS FOR CHRISTMAS MARKET.
Lighthouses, small houses, pencil cases, sewing bobbin holders, cushions (Debbie won't be making any more because we've no more cushions!!!) pen holders, whisky staves goods will hopefully all be on sale at the market. Any other suggestions, samples, bring them along to the shed. What about making three or four bee hotels to display at our stall? We can take orders from prospective customers if they pay a deposit!!!!

BEE HOTEL
Kerry strange is collecting the hotel tomorrow.

GENERAL SALES
Russell came up with a good suggestion last week.... when a customer buys anything from us, we get them to fill in a small form with their email address so we can keep in touch with them. It gives us the opportunity to let them know when we have kindling, or when their item is ready for collection/delivery. Just a thought...

WOOD DONATIONS.
We cannot accept any more wood donations. We simply have no room to store it, and Guy Fawkes night is not all that far away either, so we need to be mindful of that as well.

RAVELRIG RDA
A wee while back they asked us about giant Jenga and other stuff.... If I remember correctly Ali Skinner was in conversation with them. Can someone remind me tomorrow to ask about it. I kept this item in so if Ali is at the shed tomorrow we can talk about it.

FLOYDS FOLLY
The extension roof is now watertight.

SCRAP METAL AREA
Jan and Mike are creating a stepped area next to where the brazier is. It's starting to take shape.

ST CUTHBERTS CHURCH TOY STORE
Jim Floyd has discovered that there is more work involved to repair it than we previously anticipated. He'll be talking to Nicki about it.

TIDYING UP
Please, please, please remember to tidy up after you and put all tools back to where you got them from.

That's about it for this week folks, stay safe.

See you all tomorrow.
