Hi

Evening all

BALERNO SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP
Due to the barbecue we won't be at the school tomorrow. I've let the teachers know.

PERGOLAS
For those of you interested in how to erect the pergolas: It's best to download the PERGOLUX app from either Google play or the Apple App Store and check out the installation video and guide. One thing I have just noticed is that the ground anchors DO NOT COME WITH THE PRODUCT. We have to buy our own. This makes sense as they don't know the surface that it's being planted in to. We also need to buy UV resistant silicone suitable for metal surfaces to seal the pergola corners and prevent leakage. They specify 12mm diameter ground anchor bolts and we'll need 12 of them. Allen Keys and Torx screwdrivers are also needed, which we have. I've printed the appropriate pages of the installation guide and will laminate and bring to shed tomorrow.

NEXT SHED OUTING
Our next trip is on 20th June when we'll be attending the Malleny Garden Fayre in Balerno.

SHED BARBEQUE
Tomorrow is the BIG DAY. The cost of this mega meal is only £2. But you can donate more if you want to!!!!!

SMSA SHED OF THE YEAR AWARD 2026
Applications are wanted for this year's SOTY. Do new want to put ourselves forward??

MURRAYBURN PRIMARY SCHOOL
Emma Dougan is the Depute Head teacher and has contacted me asking for help in making some playground equipment for the pupils. We're meeting with her on Friday 22nd May at 12noon. Sighthill Loan is closed during pick up times. There is parking on side streets.

MALLENY GARDEN FAYRE
They are looking to finalise plans for their Fayre this year and were hoping we might be able to attend with a view to promoting the work and benefits of the Mens Shed.
They are holding the fayre on Saturday 20th June 2026. 10am – 3pm. and are inviting a variety of local nurseries, associated botanical inspired vendors and local community groups to have a plant focused day. They would be pleased to have us along. This event will take place within the grounds of Malleny Garden during the time when their National Collection of 19th Century shrub roses are in full flower and fragrance. More information about the garden can be found here. Link to their Event page here. (see picture below).

That's about it for this week folks, stay safe and warm.

See you all tomorrow.
