CURRIE COMMUNITY CENTRE FAYRE
The Currie Community Centre Christmas Fayre is being held on Sunday 30th November. I have now officially booked a table at it. They will supply a table and chairs. I have let them know what we intend to "sell" on the day. I think we should still take a cable extension as I seem to remember there are not a lot of power outlets there. Because we are a charity, it's free.

Alex has arranged a shed lunch tomorrow at 1 o'clock - venue Dhaba36 in Balerno. Afterwards there is the opportunity to socialise at the Grey Horse.
FYI we received a £20 donation from Joe Docherty, whose tree lopper we successfully repaired. He was pleased as Punch when I handed it back to him.
Alex is arranging a FREE First Aid workshop to be held at the Shed in the near(ish) future. It lasts about 90 minutes and is run by the British Red Cross. The date isn't finalised yet, but once again, once WE know, we'll let YOU know!!!!

BALERNO SCHOOL "PARTNERSHIP"
We've been approached by the depute head of the school who is interested in forging a "partnership" with us, because they have some young people who would benefit from the social and practical aspects of the Men's Shed. I've no doubt the contact is a result of our recent exposure in the local news, but I want to ensure that we don't end up doing stuff that is not in the Shed's best interests. So the depute head, Calum Blair and a colleague are going to visit us on Friday 31st October at 10 o'clock and we'll sound them out!!! I'd therefore like the trustees to be on hand for that meeting if possible.

Chalky has requested a couples of thing that I think we can help with. One is easy - decide which vacuum cleaner to keep and dispose of the other two. We can do that tomorrow. The other request concerns placing the battery storage associated with their solar panel array. They would like it next to the heat pump/aircon unit. He's sent me a drawing of the battery enclosure and it measures H1720mm x W850mm x D260mm. It weighs 396Kg. If there's room inside the current cage for it to fit - brilliant, but if not then he's asked if we could put down a slab base and once it's all been fitted, build another cage around the battery box.I'll bring the drawings with me tomorrow.
