Hi

Evening all

BALERNO SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP
I'll be at the school first thing tomorrow. I've collected the spade, forks and bags already and they'll go with me to the school.

TOOL DONATIONS TO SHED
Don Macleod and Neil Baxter donated several tools and wood to the shed this week. Lyall and I received them and put them in the shed and container (see below SHED TIDINESS)
A pillar drill, sander and compound mitre saw as well as other nails and screws were donated by these kind people. I have obtained their instruction manuals and laminated them, and they are on the appropriate machines.

PPE🦺
Still looking for shedders wearing their PPE in action poses for photos please.

COVERING/AWNING FOR PATIO AREA
PAVING SLABS
We are still on the lookout for more slabs. Murdo has already dropped off a pile of them.

PALLETS
We don't want any more pallets just now.

SHED TRAILER
Iain Millar is overseeing this

CNC ROUTER
Martin is leading this project with help from Robert. Still looking for a pc to control their software.

SHED TIDINESS
John spent Wednesday trying - unsuccessfully- to tidy the shed. His main complaint is everyone leaves objects on the bench. There is no room to work. The same goes for the container and Floyds Folly. Pretty much every horizontal space has wood lying on it and we don't know if it's for burning or projects We are bursting at the seams with excess materials. So what do we do about it?
Can you take some time and think on a way forward. Do we hire a small skip and dump all the stuff we don't want into it? If you have any CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions, I and the rest of the trustees would like to hear them. I should be back at the shed at around 1130 so we can talk then.

BALERNO CARES AND BEE HOTEL
I understand the charity want us to make them a bee hotel. I've contacted Cathy Michie for more info.

RUSSELL FINDLAY MSP - VISIT
We have been approached to host a potential visit by Russell Findlay MSP, Leader of the Scottish Conservatives, to the Pentland Men’s Shed in the coming weeks to learn more about the work we do, the challenges and opportunities facing men’s sheds in Scotland, and how the Scottish Conservatives can further support these vital organisations in the Scottish Parliament. He would like to meet some of the men involved, try his hand at some activities, and hear more about the shed first hand. He’d also like, if possible, to invite some of the media along. Before I respond, we need to discuss...

JASON NOONAN
Jason, from the Balerno Village Trust is looking for a piece of plywood to make into a chalk board. I said for him to come along tomorrow and we'll help him out. (Supply only)

That's about it for this week folks, so stay safe and warm.

See you all tomorrow.
