The reason for no Shed notes last night is as follows.... My wife Debbie (she's being blamed for this!!!) didn't take any food out of the freezer for Thursday's dinner. Our fish man's delivery van comes round on a Thursday and we normally have fish n'chips on a Friday night. So last night, we decided to eat the fish. I got it into my head it was therefore Friday, and forgot all about the shed notes until 0015 hrs this morning when I woke up, having just remembered about them. So, apologies all round, and Debbie has been scolded😜

Here's a list of what we are currently up to... I want to keep this list going every week so we don't forget what needs to be done (or should I say what we will eventually get round to!!!!)

CURRIE PRIMARY SCHOOL CLASS SIGNS
Julie Mackay and a cohort of her pupils will be at the shed on Monday morning to collect the signs. A good photo opportunity to get our profile raised in the community!! If Stewart can be there, that would be good, as he did all the hard graft.
The shed is holding its next BBQ on Friday 27th June at 1200ish. It's for wives, partners and girlfriends. (Just make sure you don't invite them all at the same time Stewart😍)

Once again I'm asking everyone to tidy up after they have done any work in the shed. The shipping container is in the process of being prepared for what is was acquired for- dirty work, but the modular building is meant for clean work and needs to be kept clean and tidy. The bench should be clear at the end of every shed meeting, so let's make an effort to keep it that way.

On Wednesday Ali Skinner and I gathered up the scrap metal and cables and wires, took it all to the scrappie at Gogarburn, and got £289.45. Thank you to everyone who donated their unwanted items. In future, we will make more frequent runs to the scrappie, and we MUST ensure the scrap is broken down into small enough pieces to fit into the blue plastic containers, which will then fit in a car. We may not have the use of a trailer all the time.

MALLENY GARDENS PLANT FAIR SATURDAY 28TH JUNE
We have been invited to attend and set up a stall to publicise what we do in the local community. This event will take place within the grounds of Malleny Garden during the time when their National Collection of 19th Century shrub roses is in full flower and fragrance. More information about the garden can be found here. While it is primarily plant focused, the organisers are keen to have local groups showcasing the wider opportunities which exist in the area. They have offered us a 3mx3m space (sufficient for a Gazebo and table) to display some of our work and the Men’s Shed organisation. The event is on from 10am till 3 pm. I am looking for volunteers to man the shed's stall. Please let me know your availability. (You don't have to be available for the whole time).
Ali Skinner and I will be at the shed on Sunday afternoon to meet a gentleman who wishes to donate some tools to the shed
We're currently on a roll attracting new members and welcoming lapsed members too. We're nearly at 50 members.

CURRIE NURSERY POLYTUNNEL
The polytunnel is 16 feet long and we will need to dig through the tarmac playground but apart from that it looks doable. I have said to my daughter Vicky that we would let her know in advance of when we were likely to start the project. I will email under separate cover, a copy of the polytunnel installation instructions so the volunteers have an idea of what's required.
