Hi

Evening all

GRANT DONATION FROM C&B NEWS
We applied to the C&B News last month for a grant to help us out with tool replacement (but they couldn't see their way to replacing Stewart😈) Instead, they awarded us £250. I've written to Ros Salton, their Donations Manager, thanking them for their grant.

BALERNO SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP
No more school interaction until next term. There'll be a fresh intake of students for the support classes, and we'll continue our work with them then.

RAVELRIG RIDING FOR THE DISABLED
I've contacted them to clarify what they want....and when they would like them (Garden stuff and swings)

PORTABLE WORKBENCHES
Stewart and his team of workers is soldiering on with these.... needs to choose castors to fit on to them. He has some good ideas....

NEXT SHED BARBEQUE - FOR SHEDDERS AND THEIR WAGS
Wet weather forecast means we'll be eating in the hall
Tomorrow
£5 per head.
Open to members and WAGs
Volunteers to help set up will be appreciated and much more appreciated for tidying up afterwards.

SMSA SHED OF THE YEAR AWARD 2026
We're going ahead with a shot at the SOTY. I think we now have enough material. Nigel is going to work his journalistic 'magic' and send our entry forward.

MALLENY GARDEN FAYRE
Here's an email I received from James Bell, the Head Gardener at Malleny...
I hope everyone is well. Looking forward welcoming everyone at the weekend and thank you for offering to come along to the Plant Fayre.
Regarding setup;
We will begin setup from 8am. The garden will open to visitors from 10am. We aim to finish setup by 9.40am. The Plant Fayre is due to finish at 3pm, and we will begin break down after this time. The garden itself will remain open to visitors until 5pm.
If you bring your vehicle to the front of Malleny House, EH14 7AF, (What3Word location ///elder.doubt.educated) and offload there. The Fayre will be in the walled garden, so everything will need to moved by hand/trolly into the garden. We will have volunteers here on the day, so some assistance can be provided. After unloading, we will need vehicles moved from the front of the house to the nearby public carpark at Currie Rugby Club (What3Word location ///announce.deprives.launched). If you need regular access to your vehicle we may be able to make alternative arrangements – Please let me know. There will be around a dozen vehicles arriving, so a queue is likely.
In the garden, everyone will have a 3m x 3m Gazebo space available (unless alternate space is already arranged). We won’t provide a gazebo or table (unless already arranged).
I’ll meet everyone as they arrive and direct you to an appropriate space in the garden. We will also highlight where toilet facilities are.

That's about it for this week folks, stay safe and warm.

See you all tomorrow.
