Hi

Evening all

SHED INSURANCE
The insurance is due for renewal by 2nd December and Nigel Duncan, our secretary is on the job. FYI, The 2024/2025 annual premium was just north of £530. There are several companies offering business so it will be a case of choosing the one which best fits the shed's needs. Iain Millar will help us choose.

BAYNES FAMILY BAKERY CHARITY DONATION
They are donating a sum of money (currently unknown) into the Shed bank account tomorrow, so by the time you get to the shed we should know how much they have given us. But still no word on Balerno Cares' donation...

FIRST AID WORKSHOP
The First Aid Workshop date is the MONDAY 23rd January at 1030 a.m. It is scheduled to last about 1 and a half hours. As the event approaches, Alex will ask for confirmation of attendance from Shedders. As it's only 2 days away from Burns Night, maybe we could resuscitate a Haggis!!!!😀🧆

SHED CHRISTMAS LUNCH
Alex is also arranging the annual Shed Christmas lunch, being held at the Riccarton inn again this year. More details to follow...

2026 CRUISES
Alex has also booked two boats of 12 from Ratho Cruise Terminal (Seagull Cruises) on Friday 10th April from 1100 a.m. You need to be there for 1045 though. As if that wasn't enough he's also intending to book a cruise from Falkirk which hopefully will take us to the Falkirk Wheel - and it's scheduled for June/July time 2026.

SCOTTISH SHEDDER MAGAZINE
The October edition of the SMSA's magazine is out. Here's a link to it...

BALERNO SCHOOL "PARTNERSHIP"
I want to ensure that we don't end up doing stuff that is not in the Shed's best interests. The depute head, Calum Blair and a colleague are going to visit us on tomorrow Friday 31st October at 10 o'clock and we'll sound them out!!! I'd therefore like the trustees to be on hand for that meeting if possible.

FORRESTERS SCHOOL PROJECT
I have emailed the boys' teacher to ask if there is anything we can help them with, because they have not been in contact for a few weeks.

GUY FAWKES NIGHT
It's fast approaching and we seem to have made a good effort in minimising the amount of wood on show that thieves might nick!! The CCTV is working OK just now, so I and the Scout leaders will keep an eye on things.

I won't make it to the Shed on Monday because we're getting all the windows in the house replaced. Estimated time to install is 2 to 3 days, starting on Monday

See you all tomorrow.
