Hi

Evening all

CHRISTMAS WORK UP
Balerno Farmer's Market date is Saturday 13th December. We'll need to be there for around 0830 to get things set up. I'll have more details nearer the time.

CURRIE COMMUNITY CENTRE FAYRE
The Currie Community Centre Christmas Fayre is being held on Sunday 30th November. I have now officially booked a table at it. They will supply a table and chairs. I have let them know what we intend to "sell" on the day. I think we should still take a cable extension as I seem to remember there are not a lot of power outlets there.

TREE LOPPER REPAIR
I'm bringing a broken tree lopper in for repair tomorrow. I think all it needs is the rope replaced. The gentleman to whom it belongs lives in Craiglockhart and is 87 years young, doesn't drive, so the easiest thing was to collect the lopper from him.

OPEN DAY
I'll get Nigel to contact the SMSA and let them know our views on having an open day in the middle of winter. Our particular circumstances dictate we meet mostly in the open air, so it makes more sense for us to host an open day in the Summer.

BREAKFAST BARBECUE
It went off really well. The usual excellent fare supplied by Lyall was consumed with gusto!!

FIRST AID WORKSHOP
Alex is arranging a FREE First Aid workshop to be held at the Shed in the near(ish) future. It lasts about 90 minutes and is run by the British Red Cross. The date isn't finalised yet, but once again, once WE know, we'll let YOU know!!!!

SHED EQUIPMENT
Heavy Maintenance
Some of the Shed machinery is currently undergoing ‘Heavy Maintenance’.

Planer/Jointer
The Planer/jointer that lives in the container wouldn’t start. This turned out to be a ‘blootered’ motor start capacitor. John and Ferranti Robin diagnosed the problem and have fitted a new replacement capacitor. The planer blades are pretty blunt so new blades have been ordered and will be fitted asap.

Planer/Thicknesser
The Planer/Thicknesser that lives in the Portacabin has chipped blades. New blades have been ordered and will be fitted asap.

Bandsaw
The large Bandsaw that lives in ‘Floyd’s Folly’ is getting a blade change. Stewart has ordered a replacement blade as the current one is getting blunt. It will be fitted hopefully on Friday.
Thanks to John for supervising all the ongoing work. Here are a couple of pictures of the equipment in question.

See you all tomorrow.
