BALERNO SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP
We'll be at the school tomorrow. I've obtained black and white masonry paint for the slabs. The area has been jet-washed by the janitors. I've added a couple of items to our project list: see bottom of this email. We may have some of the students at the shed before end of term-time, so if that happens then we can have the Planters flat-packed - ready to assemble - and get the students to build them.
Being delivered TOMORROW. At time of writing this note I have not yet received the time window, but I will let everyone know via WHATSAPP.

In the meantime I found this rather fetching image of Stewart modelling a Summer dress while carrying a parrot on the recent Union Canal cruise.....

MURRAYBURN PRIMARY SCHOOL
Emma Dougan is the Depute Head teacher and has contacted me asking for help in making some playground equipment for the pupils. I've contacted her to arrange a visit to the school to discuss what they want and where they want it. I've added their possible requirements to the project list.

They are looking to finalise plans for their Fayre this year and were hoping we might be able to attend with a view to promoting the work and benefits of the Mens Shed.
They are holding the fayre on Saturday 20th June 2026. 10am – 3pm. and are inviting a variety of local nurseries, associated botanical inspired vendors and local community groups to have a plant focused day. They would be pleased to have us along. This event will take place within the grounds of Malleny Garden during the time when their National Collection of 19th Century shrub roses are in full flower and fragrance. More information about the garden can be found here. Link to their Event page here. (see picture below).

That's about it for this week folks, stay safe and warm.
