Hi

I managed a 22 mile cycle trip along the union Canal the other afternoon. Fantastic scenery, houseboats, partridges, pheasants, a heron and lots of ducks. Weather was brilliant as well!! Sore backside though!!!

SCOUT WHITEBOARD
Grant has said the whiteboard is ready for fitting, so hopefully we will get that done for him this week Last week didn't go so well!!!

BREAKFAST BBQ
The date for our first 2025 breakfast BBQ is 18th April, and if the weather is bad, it will be on the 25th. A modest contribution to offset the cost will be required from all attendees. So far we have 17 confirmed shedders lining up for breakfast 🍗🍔

LARCH CLADDING WORK
Three of us went to 'work' on Tuesday morning and managed to get the first layer of larch on to the container side facing the street. The transformation is really noticeable, and once we get the top layer overlapped on to the current planks, it will be a real measure of what we can achieve. Not only that, the view from the street will be much more in keeping with the rest of the buildings. Well done to Ali Skinner and Davy McLuckie who did all the heavy lifting. I managed to hold the nails for them!!! Here's a couple of images of before and now... Once we get it complete I'll post the final images.

CURRENT PROJECTS
Here's a list of what we are currently up to...
Scout Racetrack timer grid; Litter Picking Stations; Pink Bench; Shed fence; St Cuthbert's Church Sign; Shed Seats and Benches Refurbishment; Shed Path; Scout Gates; Scouts Whiteboard; Shed Cladding (see below); Bird Boxes; Decorative Wheelbarrows; Currie P S Class signs; Currie P S Nursery Polytunnel; AND FINALLY - SHED SPRING CLEAN.

SPRING CLEAN
John Wilson is once again fighting a losing battle trying to keep the shed organised and tidy. We ALL need to make sure we put the tools we have been using away. The shed is not huge, and bench space is continually being taken up with (for lack of a better word) RUBBISH being left on the surface. So please, everyone, make it your last task before signing out, to make sure you've put stuff away. And if you don't know where it is to go, then ask. I've designed a new signing in/out book to help you remember to put your tools away.

Keep safe and healthy, see you all tomorrow.
Best Regards,

Rab Mason
