Hi

It's Iain on the keyboard for the first time in a long while, as Rab is not around this week. I may struggle to reach his high standard of journalism, but here we go.

Shed Insurance
We are working to renew our insurance at present, and as with most insurances, we have been quoted a substantial increase in our policy cost this year. This is partly because insurance just keeps getting more expensive, and partly because we are increasing the value of our premises and contents to better reflect the true cost of replacement / reinstatement in the event that something goes horribly wrong. I have, however, been in touch with another broker that claims to have expertise in insuring Men's Sheds, so here's hoping they will be a bit cheaper, or we'll need to sell even more kindling this year!

Lothian Men's Shed Network Meeting
We have been asked to host the next meeting of the Lothian Men's Shed Network, in late January or early February, and of course we want to show off our premises and our achievements to the group. Dates and exact arrangements are still to be confirmed, and we will let you know as soon as we have something in the calendar.

Stewart Still / Clive Irvine
The last we heard from Stewart's son was good news indeed, that Stewart is now making a recovery from his recent heart surgery. Here's hoping that continues, and that we will soon see him back pointing out all the things we have done wrong! We also look forward to welcoming Clive back to the Shed following his surgery, and that he is also feeling a lot better.

I'm sure there is a lot more going on that I have forgotten to mention, but I think that'll be enough for the time being.
Best Regards,

Iain Millar
