2 x Aico Ei141 ionising smoke alarms. These are mains devices that can be interlinked by cable to comply with the new Scottish regulations that come in in 2022. By replacing one base plate with the equivalent Ei168 Wireless baseplate, they can also communicate with other wireless smoke alarms from the Aico range.

The base plates, once installed, never need replaced, however the actual alarm components will need to be replaced by May 2027. This is, however, a straightforward process.

Please note that ionising smoke alarms are recommended for use in bedrooms, whereas optical alarms are recommended for hallways, landings, and living rooms.
